Dare #22 - Jo

Hi darers! Well the best part of dares I think is they take you outside of your comfort zone, and if you know a little about my usual style you will know I am generally a single photo scrapper so this took me outside of mine well and truly! But hey I love a challenge and I love a dare which also gets me to scrap something I have been meaning to do for ages like these camp photos of my daughter. So here is the end result and I have to say that it has ended up being one of my alltime favourite layouts! I can see a style change may just take place for me here...watch this space! So why not give it a go, it might just make you want to change your style a little too.

Dare 22 - Lesley

Okay I have used a cut down acetate card holder to hold photos, patterned paper and journalling. I attached it using a metal slide clip thingy so it can be lifted up to reveal more photos and the journalling.

I dare you to!

The deadline for sharing your layouts with us is Wednesday 6th June by 6pm. You can email them to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) or leave us a comment in the first post for this dare that will link us back to your LO.

Wendy's Multiple Photos

Here is my take on this great dare, I just loved doing this one and ended up doing two layouts one for both kids albums - essentially they are very similar layouts using diff papers etc and making one more girly while the other a little more masculine. This is a great way to record an event on one page.

Dare 22 - Multiple Photos - Trinas take

Hi everyone. Well, I love getting lots of photos onto a page, so I really enjoyed this challenge. And I made it a bit different for me, by having a double LO and also lots and lots of doodling (rubons of course! LOL).
This LO is for the yearly album I'm doing. Each month I create a LO giving info about what we did, and some pics as well. Its a lot of fun, and of course perfect for a multiple photo LO.
Can't wait to see what you guys all come up with! Don't forget to send your entry to Lianne. Check for details below.
Trina.

Dare # 22 - Lianne

I really enjoyed putting this layout together. I usually only scrap 1 or 2 photos on a page but I managed to get 7 photos on with ease.

And a big thank you to Andrea at Scrapbook Outlet NZ for sponsoring this fortnights dare.

Dare # 22 - Multiple Photos

It's Yolandes dare this week but she is at SENZ and away from her computer for the weekend. So I'm posting this for her. Actually a few of us are at SENZ this weekend so if you see us come and say hi!!
OK, so the dare is to scrap a layout with at least 6 photos on it. No cheating and doing a double layout and spreading them over 2 pages either, there has to be at least 6 photos on each page. Check out Yolandes awesome layout with 17 photos on it. Wow how cool is that. And what a great way to scrap those 'occasion' photos.
The deadline for sharing your layouts with us is Wednesday 6th June by 6pm. You can email them to me at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) or leave us a comment in this post that will link us back to your LO.
Look forward to seeing your multi-photo layouts.

My take

Hi guys! I just got this finished and wanted to put it up before it was too late.
I've had this photo sitting on my desk for about 1.5 weeks. I just couldn't work out what I wanted to do or say. So I finally figured it out. And here it is. Its one of those typical 'professional' photos that our mothers all had taken when we were young. But I love it. Its very much me as a baby. Alert, happy, wanting to see what's going on.
So you've still got a day to get your entries in. Dare you to!
Don't forget to send them to Lianne.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Trina.

DARE you get out those chubby faced pics + clothes that our mum's dressed us in that made us cringe or a speical photo that brings back 'magical' memories!!!

Dare 21 - Megan

This is a cool dare of Andrea's. I loved going through some old photos, many I had forgotten about, and lots that just made me smile.

This photo was originally a slide, and I just can't help using all those cool Fancy Pants papers, just love them.

Give this dare a go, you can do a page tonight and post it by 6pm tomorrow. Then you'll go into the draw for a cool prize from Scrapbook Studio, formally Scrapbooking by Design.

Dare 21 - Marieke

Feeling rather red-faced here because it wasn't until the day after I'd written the journaling on this layout that I realised that use of the term "bride's maid" is incorrect here and only used for adults in a wedding. I literally translated the Dutch term 'bruids meisje' and obviously didn't think about it. Ugh! The proper english term would be flower girl. Sheez, just goes to show how many weddings I've attended here: a big fat 0. Will have to see if I can get some 'undo' or something to rub it off the transparency and correct my mistake.

So no making fun of that okay? But here you go, my layout for this dare. Was rather fun looking through the few photos I have of myself as a child. When I saw this picture the memory of those shoes hit me immediately. It must have driven my mother mad and she was probably cursing herself for not hiding them out of sight from me. :-p.

I am 2.5 years old in this picture and flower girl at my aunt's wedding.

The deadline for sharing your layouts with us is Wednesday 23rd May by 6pm. You can email them to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) or leave us a comment on Andrea's post that will link us back to your LO.

Now show us what you looked like when you were little, go on, I dare ya.

Dare #21 - Monique

While digging into the cardboard box that holds my childhood pics I discovered my plunket book that Mum had tucked in with them....this entry by a plunket nurse caught my eye and made me laugh..."doing nicely...all chat and chuckles" and then I found this photo (no laughing now!!lol!)which seemed made for that comment so I put the two together and came up with this layout...

Remember the deadline for sharing your layouts with us is Wednesday 23rd May by 6pm. You can email them to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) or leave us a comment on Andrea's post that will link us back to your LO.

Now I dare you to dust off those old photos and preserve a moment in your own childhood.

Dare 21 - Lesley

Okay I have to confess that I havent scrapped a lot of my childhood photos so Andreas dare has been very good for me. I am pretty sure that this photo was during my last year of primary school so I would have been about 10 years old.

So I dare you to dig through your photos and scrap yourself as a child.

Lesley

Dare #21 - Jo

So here is my layout...a little quirky, a little poppety and a little doodley - thanks to the CC freestyle influence lol. I love these French Twist papers by Rhonna Farrer so much and especially the owls on them so I had to make myself into a wise old owl giving the little me some advice. Had so much fun with this layout, especially taking the old photo and giving it some new life, you gotta love photoshop! No idea how old I am, maybe 6 or 7? Definitely under 10 at any rate.

This dare of Andrea's is a great opportunity to breathe some new life into those old photos so give it a go! Remember the deadline for sharing your layouts with us is Wednesday 23rd May by 6pm. You can email them to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) or leave us a comment on Andrea's post that will link us back to your LO.
Have fun! Jo

Lianne - Dare # 21

I had this old colour photo of me when I was 7, taken at a studio. It was pretty wrecked; it had tears and some of those yuck mold patches, you know. So I scanned it in and had a play in Photoshop - converted to B & W, got rid of the tears (so rapt) and adjusted the contrast and here it is.
So drag out those old photos buried in those old albums and have a play, you don't have to do the Photoshop thing just scrap em anyhow you like. And show us.
Look forward to seeing them in my inbox - RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz.
And thanks heaps Lisa from Scrapbook Studio (formerly Scrapbooking by Design) for sponsoring this dare.

Dare 21 - Scrap Your Own Childhood Photo

Many of us get into scrapbooking after the birth of a child so that we can remember all those special moments in their childhood right? So what about our own childhood? Sure a lot of us still probably have old scrapbooks hidden away somewhere filled with cards and pictures we drew etc. But how would you go about scrapbooking your own childhood photo right now with the tools and supplies available to us now?

So come on share a layout with us that's all about you in your childhood (let's make it under the age of 10). Don't forget if there's only one copy of the photo it might be a good idea to use a copy of it on your layout rather than the original. That's what I did here, my Mum has this photo in an album so I scanned it at high resolution and then i could enlarge it to the size i wanted and also do the smaller pic which i cropped and desaturated.

The prize for this draw is sponsored by Scrapbook Studio (formerly Scrapbooking By Design) so thanks Lisa for your awesome support!

The deadline for sharing your layouts with us is Wednesday 23rd May by 6pm. You can email them to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) or leave us a comment in this post that will link us back to your LO.

Looking forward to everyone's creations!

Andrea

Moniques Dare 20

and one from me too!

This dare was a great excuse to tidy up my stash and see exactly what I do have...which turned out to be a huge mixture of everything and not much of one brand, so it was definately a challenge lol! But I love it when I use up what I already have so I went with my old friend Basic Grey...Paper, tag, chipboard and letter stickers with a dab of paint and a bit of penwork.

Sort out your own stash now and whip up a layout!!!....I dare you! That great prize from Junkitz has your name on it!!!

Email to RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz by this Wednesday 9th May 6pm.....have fun!

Dare 20 - Megan

Taking a different tack on this dare, I scrapped an old photo of my Nana's. I am in the process of scanning her old photos and getting the stories before, before ..well, before stuff happens. She is 87 years old!

The product I used is all by Brenda Walton for K & Co.

Only a few more days left to enter your layout for this dare, so give it a go and email your layouts to lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) by 6pm Wed 9th May.

Dare #20

Create a layout using products from only one manufacturuer. What fun! I used all Crate paper and frames and just altered the colours with good old, plain, colouring in pencils. I'm loving that at the moment, just colouring everything in sight.
Send your entries to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz (100kb or less) by May 9th at 6pm or leave a link on Trina's post.
